FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

LASER TATTOO REMOVAL

  • how does it work?

Our laser's highly-focused light energy shatters ink particles in your skin's live layer. Your body's natural cleaning and filtering system then picks up and disposes of the fragments.

  • How much does it cost?

Our pricing is extremely competitive, even when compared to non-physicians using older technology.  Since the cost of laser tattoo removal is extremely specific to the tattoo, we can generate price quotes in person only, during a free consultation.

To make our services even more accessible, we offer flexible payment plans, special pre-payment discounts, and zero-percent financing.

  • is it safe?

In the hands of a physician, it's extremely safe. TattooMedics complies with all safety standards required by OSHA, in a clean and modern facility. Dr. Rosol follows evidence-based guidelines for best, safest results.

  • does it leave scars or other marks?

Scarring is extremely rare with the PicoSure laser. Changes in your skin's background pigment can happen and are usually temporary.

  • does it hurt?

It can, but it shouldn't. We don't recommend undergoing treatments without anesthetics. Dr. Rosol, being a licensed physician, offers more effective numbing options than our competitors can. Most health insurance prescription plans cover the cost of numbing medications.

If you are a candidate for EMLA cream, the following video shows how to apply it properly.

  • can you definitely remove my tattoo?

Some colors (black, blue, and green) are generally easier to remove than others. We usually can't know the exact composition of your tattoo ink, nor can we always predict how your particular skin will respond to treatment. Most tattoos cooperate extremely well and vanish completely. While we can't promise we'll erase every tattoo without a trace, we believe you have the very best shot at removal with TattooMedics.

  • what if I'm pregnant? Can i still have my tattoo removed?

We'll wait for the baby to come and then get right on that tattoo.

  • what's the ugliest tattoo you've ever removed?

As with any medical practice, we adhere to strict doctor/patient confidentiality. Sometimes our patients give us permission to share their stories and pictures. We hope someday soon to add your success story to our Before & After gallery!

SKIN REJUVENATION

  • WHAT CAN THE PICOSURE LASER DO?

The PicoSure is the laser for tattoo removal, but it can do so much more! With its Focus Lens Array (FLA), our PicoSure can reverse the effects of aging, sun damage, and acne scarring. Common benign pigmented lesions, such as age spots, freckles, and malasma, can also be erased. Treatments are gentle, yet effective. In most cases recovery is easy, with no downtime.

  • how does it work?

As we age, the cells in our skin responsible for manufacturing and maintaining its protein structure become less and less active. Our PicoSure Focus Lens Array (FLA) splits the laser's powerful beam into a "paintbrush" of weak and strong beams that penetrate into the skin, gently stimulating these cells back to activity. The result is the same smooth and supple skin as in youth. The very same treatments also erase age spots, freckles, and malasma, for a smooth, radiant complexion.

  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

A full facial treatment takes 30-40 minutes. A minimum of 4 treatments is necessary for best results, and additional maintenance treatments may be added as needed. Time between visits is 1 month.

  • IS IT PAINFUL?

Most people experience a mild to moderate discomfort during the treatment. There can be mild swelling and a sunburn sensation for 1 to 2 days after.

  • IS IT SAFE?

PicoSure FLA treatments are extremely safe in the hands of a physician following established treatment protocols.

KYBELLA®

  • WHAT IS KYBELLA?

Kybella is the only FDA-approved, non-surgical, injectable solution to double chin caused by genetics, aging, weight fluctuations, or a combination of these factors. It is a series of injections done 6 to 8 weeks apart. Kybella is safe, because it is a substance already present in your body. It is approved for mild to severe double chin.

  • HOW DOES IT WORK?

Kybella works by dissolving stubborn fat under the chin. Your body’s natural clean-up mechanisms safely and gently remove the dissolved fat without disturbing skin, blood vessels, and other structures. In most cases, skin naturally tightens to conform to your new chin profile.

  • CAN KYBELLA BE USED FOR OTHER PARTS OF THE BODY?

Kybella is FDA-approved for double chin (submental fullness) only.

  • HOW MANY TREATMENTS DOES IT TAKE?

Depending on your aesthetic goals and the severity of your double chin, it can take 1 to 4 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart to achieve the desired effect.

  • HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

The effects of Kybella are permanent! Once fat is gone, it’s gone for good. For natural-looking results some fat is left behind. Some fluctuations may be seen in remaining fat with future changes in body weight.

  • DOES IT HURT?

A local numbing medication is used, and patients are usually quite comfortable during the 15-minute procedure.

  • WHAT KIND OF RECOVERY CAN I EXPECT?

Redness, pain, and swelling occur for about 4 days after the procedure. To accommodate most people’s schedules, Thursday is Kybella Day at TattooMedics, to allow 4 days of recovery before returning to work on Monday. We are very flexible with other types of work schedules and can do your procedure any other day of the week that we are open. Pain and swelling can usually be managed with over-the-counter analgesics and ice packs.

  • HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Kybella costs $1200 per 2-vial treatment. Up to 4 treatments may be needed to achieve your desired result, but many people see great results in just 1 or 2 treatments.

  • IS KYBELLA RIGHT FOR ME?

Kybella isn’t the best solution in certain situations, but in a doctor consultation we’ll help determine whether it’s right for your particular case. The consultation fee of $50 is applicable to your first treatment. There is no consultation fee for existing TattooMedics patients.
